Giraffe Past Two

Hello.  Welcome.  Here's a recap of the DT piece I made for Rubber Dance this month.  A great idea for a gift, especially if you have an old boring clock at home.  Or maybe you were in IKEA and bought a cheap one?   I did that!!  With a little bit of altering it becomes a whole different animal.  Maybe a gift, or maybe for me hee hee.

I was inspired by this months challenge colours at Rubber Dance, and there's still a few hours to join the fun if you aren't too busy spooking.....

I started with a cheap clock

I disassembled it and coloured with raisen, caramel and bottle alcohol inks.  I had to paint the back of the clock white cos the plastic is translucent and so are the inks.

I stamped and embossed the animals from African Animals on glossy paper, coloured with caramel, mushroom, slate and ginger alcohol inks and fussy cut.

On the background I have used stamps from ATC Backgrounds 1 and Norwegian Funny Birthday with distress inks.  The numbers are from the new Rubber Dance set Pick A Number and were the perfect size and look for my clock.

A little difficult to see but the alcohol inks give a lovely colour and texture.

Thanks for your visit.  You can find all the stamps in the  Rubber Dance shop

One Or The Other

Hello.  Welcome.  It seems my posts are going between black and white and/or cats!!  I'm blaming it on the full moon, the proximity of  All Hallows Eve and the price of potatoes.  OK, maybe the potatoes have nothing to do with it LOL.

I have used a black card base and added a silver metal layer embossed with Sizzix Metal Plate ef.  A few pieces of paper from the stash and the wonderful birthday sentiment from Rubber Dance cut using Sizzix Scalloped Rectangles.  I cut Memory Box Lisette Buckle from black metal, threaded a piece of black and white ribbon and added a cute brad.

A Cat For Janis

Hello.  Welcome.  A special hi and hello to UTs Hobby Time and Guadalupe.  So happy to have you along.  Hugz to all my followers, friends and lurkers.  Hugz.

Have you noticed that blogland's cat lovers are having a hop?   Janis has organised the fun and we are digging out out feline stash and showing it the light of day.  Many of my kittys are blinking and wondering who is disturbing their naps!!!   Some have been napping a long time......

So here's one for Janis.  I actually got myself organised and this one went in the post.  I have had the word, so I can share with you........

I used Sizzix movers and shapers Friends die and a docrafts checkered embossing folder.  The cat is an Anita's stamp, embossed, coloured and fussy cut.  The flowers are Die-namites Floral Vase, without the vases LOL.  I added a half pearl in the center of each.  I added a piece of black tape and some Seedless Preserves ink to make the 'wall' more dimensional.

Thanks for dropping by.  Don't forget to check out the hop.  Lots of lovely cats of display.  Meow.  That is catz for Hugz

Midnight in the Graveyard

Hello.  Welcome.  A special hi and hello to Christi.  So happy to have you along.  Hugz all round to my lovely followers, friends and lurkers.  Hugz

It's been a busy day so a quick card using the colours from the Unity challenge and the theme from MFP

I stamped Unity Stamps Just Be (NBUS) on a light blue card base.  I was sure I had a burgundy ink pad but could only find Port Wine.  Ah well, one red drinky is as good as the next....

Some of the birds come with the sentiment but I added a few more bottom left and top right to extend the stamping across the card.

Kittens!!

Hello.  Welcome.  A special hi to all you cat lovers.  I'm a definite fan, especially of our own cat.  She's a queen, 17 years old, still playing and drinking by dipping her paw and licking the water off.  She's got style.

I have been unbelievable inspired by Janet's Cats Lovers Hop.  I think Mr Mojo is also a cat lover.   Here's another adorable little fur ball from my seemingly endless stash of cats.  I think they have been making kittens.......

How cool is this little lovely??  This is How Do I Love You? from Penny Black.  Just stamped and fussy cut.  The background is something I started the other day and abandoned.  About 5/8 of an inch in both directions bigger than an ATC covered in paper tape.  The letters were cut from DCWV Pets stack.  I likez this lots.  Wot U think?

Thanks for dropping by.  Have you joined the cat lovers hop?  Janet, I don't think 5 days is long enough to get through all my stash......  Hugz

My Mummy Loves His Cat

Hello.  Welcome.  The ancient Egyptians were known for their respect and esteem for cats.   Some great information about this at Ancient Egypt Online.  So I decided to make a card using one of my favourite Sizzix dies - Movable Mummy, sadly now retired bwahahahahaha

He's so cool.  I used some paper that I thought looked a bit like sand and filled the sky with cats.  That's also some patterned paper I have had in the stash for, well, a while.  All the cat stash seeing the light of day.  Thanks Janis.

I cut my mummy from grey card, added some googly eyes and assembled him with mini brads.  The cat is also a Sizzix die cut.  I added some white pen details and gave him a bandage for his tail.  The fish hanging from Mummy's bandage is a Dress It Up button.  Only Mummy's straight leg is glued down.  By grabbing the toe of his other leg you can move him about.  It's quite fun jiggling the fish in front of the cat.   Meowww.

Time Please

Hello.  Welcome.  Feeling blue.  Short of time.  An ATC seemed just the ticket

I stamped Phineas Pinchbeck from the Artistic Stamper and coloured with light blue, dark blue and henna promarkers.  I embossed my blue ATC with Cheery Lynn Clocks embossing plate and tinted with Stormy Sky distress ink.  The clockwork cuts are actually Cheery Lynn Owls With Gears minus heads and feets LOL.  The letters are Sizzix alpha dies.

Mer Cat Fish

Hello.  Welcome.  The theme of cats continues with a little underwater number.

The background is yellow, ultra marine and turquoise brusho's.  Applied with ye olde spritz, sprinkle, spritz method.  I stamped the Rubber Dance sentiment using blue chalk ink and clear embossed.  The cat is High Hopes Mercat and the fish is an Inkadinkado stamp, both coloured with sharpies.

Here Be Katz

Hello.  Welcome.  The day has arrived.  The Cat Lovers Hop is live.  I have been finding cat related items in my stash.  More than I realised!!  I may be more of a cat lover than I thought LOL.  So here is my first offering to all you cat lovers and fans

Purrrrrr......

I cut my cat using Go Kreate Purr die from paper I have brayered with paint and added some Kaisercraft stamps.  He's hiding his fangs

I was going to make an ATC but my cat overfloweth.  Idea!  I grabbed my Prima 6 x 8 Free Spirit cards and found one that my cat liked

I smooched black archival on the card, added the cat and a couple of bats cut using Sizzix die, cos we was feeling 'weeny.  It's enough to make you want to journal.

I cut, embossed and added iridescent glitter glue to Memory Box Frosted Christmas Tree.  Then I stamped the Norwegian christmas greeting from Rubber Dance Stamps Norwegian Christmas set and embossed with white powder.  I mounted both on a black card base.

Hello.  Welcome.  A special hi and hello Cathy.  So glad to have you along on my crafty journey.  Hugz all round to my lovely followers.

I still seem to be in this black and white and clean and simple mood.  But I am sure that soon there will be cats!!

I used a black card base, added Memory Box Calm Countryside cut from white card and the some silver sticker letters to write my good luck sentiment.  Simple.

Ghosts and Ghouls and Things That Go Bwahahahahahaha in the Night

Hello.  Welcome.  See, said I'd be back soon with more black and white delights.  As I was hiding sitting in my crafty space, wondering if my friend would be venturing out on this cold and wet night, my eyes lit upon my movers and shapers dies and I spotted NBUS.  Gosh.  'Tis the season, the bells did ring, out with the NBUS, I could murder a chocolate chip cookie........

OK, I admit it!  I love this.  So quick and easy and fun.  I am thinking of making them in many colours.  I used Sizzix Movers and Shapers Mini Silly Jack O Lantern set to cut my white panel.  Mounted it on a black base card and added some eyes.

Off The Block

Hello.  Welcome.  A special hi and hello to Karen Petitt, who has joined my friends connect followers, and also to Amanda Rhodes, who is following by email, and left me a lovely comment so I know.  I really appreciate all of my friends, followers and lurkers.  If you want a little mention and some personnal appreciation then just leave a comment to let me know and I will say hi.  That said, hugz all round and on with the blah, blah, blah.

I suppose anyone new to my blog might be thinking I'm a monochrome kind of girl.  I just realised that I have posted a few black and white creations, and I warn you, there are more to come.  But right now I am sharing a little vintage number.  Not my strongest style, but you just got to give it a go now and then.

The car is a Kort og Godt stamp on DoCrafts patterned paper, with very distressed edges.  The circle paper is DCWV.  I used Cheery Lynn Tiny Bubble Border to cut the blue card, leaving some of the negatives in place.

The metal feathers are from Korthobby and I added a couple of brown half pearls from Storyteller.

Everything is Small Stuff

Hello.  Welcome.  Still on a black and white plus none high.

I was inspired by Greta's card.  Greta is the muse for this month's CASE playground over at Stamplorations.

I started by sponging versamark through stencil and embossing with white powder.

I added a border of washi tape.

I stamped the butterfly and sentiment from Trendy Butterflies on vellum and embossed with black powder.  I fussy cut the butterfly and cut the sentiment with Spellbinders Labels 21.  I used my embossing tool to add some detail to the sentiment and mounted on a piece of black card.

Hello.  Welcome.  Just playing with a few different elements and seeing where they led me.

I embossed a white panel using Sizzix Harlequin ef and mounted on a black base card.  I cut Memory Box Loop Border twice from black card and added either side.  I stamped Unity Stamps There Was a Boy on white card and embossed with black powder.  The sentiment is from Unity's Party Girls set, also embossed.

Oh Dyr, Oh Dyr

Hello.  Welcome.  I have been playing with the fabulous new stamps set African Animals from Rubber Dance Stamps.  I decided to make a set of cards and a matching box.

Tip:  Make sure the box is big enough for the ENVELOPES!!  LOL

I made my box to fit my cards, and then realised envelopes are bigger!!  Duh!  Luckily I found some slightly smaller envelopes, so I just adjusted my card size to fit.  My box is cut from MME patterned card and stamped with distress inks.

I made two versions of each card, one with Norwegian and one with English text.

I made all these in the same way.  I stamped the animals on MME coloured card and masked.  I added the sentiments and then randomly stamped using different stamps and distress inks to create the backgrounds.

Love that giraffe.

Do not adjust your set!!!  These rhino's look a little blurry cos I stamped them in distress ink, but they started to get a bit lost in the background.  So I decided to over stamp with black archival.  Oops, a bit off target.  I kinda like the blur effect.......  Well, I got to say that haven't I? LOL

I used stamps from the following Rubber Dance sets: African Animals, Norwegian Funny Birthday, Happy Birthday, and ATC Backgrounds 1.

All stamps are available from Rubber Dance, and if you would like 15% off your order you can use the code gail2015

And don't forget there is still time to join this month's challenge with the chance to win some loverly rubber
