More Scary Than Flying Monkeys

Hello.  Welcome.  Well. lookee here, we are half way to the most important time of the year.  Yep, Halloween is on it's way and over at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity they are celebrating Half-O-Ween.  Well, me and the flying monkey just couldn't resist........

So, I'm calling this a large postcardThe plan was...well there wasn't much plan.  Just go with the flow.  There were going to be bats, but they left the building when the dragon showed up.  Mum always said you shouldn't fly over the pumpkin patch cos even flying monkeys quake in their boots at the sight of a dragon

I started here.  No, really, I did!  A shades of green brusho background.  Brick Red chalk through Stamplorations RetroCircles stencil.  I flipped the stencil and rubbed the excess ink on the paper to get the chaos sudges at the top.  And a black embossed dragon.  Cos I can.  And he was on the desk.

Then I went a little bit crazy with many shades of purple distress and also a little orange.  I used a spikey castle stamp to make the spikey bits and some smudges with black archival.

I decided since it was Half-O-Ween it should be more gloomy.  And pumpkins.  You gotta have pumpkins.  So I smudged the edges generously with versamark ink and black embossed.  The pumpkins were cut using a sizzix die and the Barbed Wire is Cheery Lynn diecut.

Enter the flying monkey.  I used Things to Alter mdf Monkey and the wings are from one of the winged keys.  See Jac, flying monkey.  The sentiment is a Unity stamp.

Check out the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity cos they have blogaversary candy HERE

Thanks for dropping by.  Ooh look, nearly June.  Hugz

I love seeing how you built up the wonderful background to make this fab scene. I think I NEED a dragon like that, he would work wonderfully with encaustic painting
Thanks for joining us at Twofers this time
