Hello.  Welcome.  Shopping my stash tonight, starting with ye olde long forgotten embellishments.  Still in the MME chipboards.  This time we have moved back in time to 2010 and this cute potion mistress is from MME's Blackbird glittered chipboards

I really love this.  Ain't she just too cute to spook.  The orange is a piece of fabric left over from my scrunchie I made for one of my Rubber Dance DT projects this month.  It is stamped with small stars and dots.  The bootastic and boo are Cheery Lynn dies.  The background is a collage of stamps from Inspired by Stamping

Ain't that just so cool for Halloween nuts.  I used purple Brusho's to make the background then used 11 different stamps from Inspired by Stamping Tricks & Treats, Halloween Labels and Halloween Tags set.  Masking was involved also.  I cut the panel with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die to give that cute stitched border.

Hello.  Welcome.  Happy Halloween to all you who celebrate and to those who don't WHY NOT????  I love Halloween and really can't understand why it can't be orange, green and purple all year round.  Today I have decided to shop my stash and go places rarely visited.  I started with my embellishment drawer.  Well really, look at all these stickers, brads, clip art thingys, patterned chipboards.  It's almost as bad as the patterned paper pile!!  Too pretty to use or 'gotta stamp  and colour my own else it isn't handmade' problem.  Well today I decided to see what I got and use a bit.  And despite what I said earlier, I'm starting with non-traditional halloween colours......

Happy pink Halloween.  I started with this cute little witch chipboard from MME Mischevious chipboard elements (circa 2011!)  I thought she was a little nontraditional being basically black on kraft with touches of orange and green.  Then I grabbed a scrap of Prima paper that was printed with text and roses!  I cut my tag using Sizzix #2 Tag dies and stamped the pumpkins using Inspired by Stamping Pumpkin Faces stamps onto two of the printed roses and fussy cut them.  Pink pumpkins?  Maybe next year..... wistful sigh!  The boo's, bootastic and bats are all Cheery Lynn diecuts and some pink and white wool to finish.

V is for Village

Hello.  Welcome.  Flicking through the dictionary I see village and an idea I had last week pops up again.

I covered my giant playing card with plain paper and stamped Rubber Dance Textured Houses many times, masking in between.  I left a gap at the top and watercoloured the sky with distress inks.  Then I added the definition from OED.   That's all folks.......

A Sequin Or Too

Hello.  Welcome.  It's late and the chronologically challenged among us are having trouble dealing with the changing of the hours.  So unaware that I hadn't even realised they were moving the hands this weekend.  I was busy dealing with pumpkins and spooks.  And cake.  There was a lot of cake.

And then there was the Memory Box challenge wanting sequins.  Hmmmmm

Kept it simple, black and white, and sequins.  Memory Box Border die cut in black, adhered to a white base card and then I added a couple of black sequins.  Well, OK, maybe a whole row of black sequins.  What do you think??

Hello.  Welcome.  I always think this lion from Rubber Dance African Animals looks so thoughtful.  I have paired it simply with the large spiral from Round in Circles stamped in various distress colours in shades of autumn.

The sentiment is from the new Beautiful Words set.  Love that font.  All stamps are by the Norwegian company Rubber Dance Stamps.

Hello.  Welcome.  Just wanted to share the card I sent to Anita this month as part of CCC.  If you don't know what this is, basically you make and send a card to someone on planet earth, and a totally different someone sends you a card.  Happy mail winging it's way around the planet.  It's so nice to get a card each month.

This is the card I sent to Anita.  I was feeling in Halloween mode!  I used the sketch and flipped it.  I cut my card base and panel with Stamploration's Crazy Stitched Rectangle dies.  I stamped the background panel with The Artistic Stamper Material background stamp.  Great pattern.  The werewolf, cat, bats and cat 'balloon' are all Cheery Lynn dies, Monster Kids set 1, Witches Brew and Whimsical Halloween Cat.  The pumpkin and the werewolf's eyes are from Inspired by Stamping Pumpkin Faces set.

Hello.  Welcome.  The Mod Squad have an interesting challenge to CASE yourself.  Choose a past card and remake it.  That should be easy.  Shouldn't it?  Actually an interesting exercise looking back through the blog.  Saw lots of techniques I meant to use again but decided to have another go at this background technique.  So here it is, purple version with a cat.

Oooh look!  Green and purple.  Maybe I should do an orange version to cover the three colours of the spooky season.  The background stamp is from Inspired by Stamping Basics IV set.  The cat is Princess from ODBD silver embossed on black card.  Then I added this fun sentiment from Unity, also embossed silver on black.

This is the card I cased.  You can find it HERE if you want to know how I made the background.

E is for Elixir

Hello.  Welcome.  Bwahahahahahaha.  So, 26 letters in the alphabet.  52 cards in a deck of cards.  Advanced maths...... 52 / 26 = 2  So I need 2 playing cards for each letter.  Well, I knew that, and I started quite well, but then it went down to just 1 for each letter and now there's only 6 letters left and I really need to make up some ground.  If you aren't really with me I'm talking about the Craft Barn Alpha/Dictionary challenge.  So here is my second E.

Ain't that the cutest little werewolf you ever did see??  And he got a big bottle of werewolf elixir.  Had great fun making this.  I made a brusho background and covered my giant playing card.  I cut my bottle from blue card and covered it with clear embossing powder.  I made the label by following the MFP faux leather tutorial.  Not sure it looks very leathery!  First attempt.  Will try again.  Before embossing with the embossing folder I stamped with stamps from Inspired by Stamping Halloween Labels and Halloween Tags.  I combined two sentiment stamps from the two sets to get the sentiment and then used the small stamps to add the spiders, webs and bats.  The werewolf is paper pieced from Cheery Lynn Monster Kids Set 1.  I used Inspired by Stamping Pumpkin Faces stamps for the werewolf's eyes and also for the shrink plastic pumpkin tied around the bottle neck.  Definition courtesy of OED.

Pink Christmas Greetings

Click here for the September CCC Reveal

Hello.  Welcome.  Colour seems to be big this month in blogland.  We got pink, lots of lovely shades of autumn, the spooky halloweeny three and purple.  I haven't got to the purple yet but did manage a festive pink card.  Well, why not a pink christmas??

I made a cute little christmas scene using some stamps from two of Rubber Dance's brand new release, Textured Houses and Watercolour Xmas.  I cut the 'hill' using Stamplorations Snowy Hill Die.  Love the stitch detail.  I drew a faint pencil line along the hill edge and then stamped the trees from Rubber Dance Watercolour Xmas and embossed with red tinsel ep.  I stamped the cute single house from Textured Houses on pink bazzill, same as my base card, and embossed with christmas red ep, fussy cut and stuck it and the hill in place.  The sentiment is from the Watercolour Xmas set, embossed with red tinsel ep and matted on the same pink card.

I found this too cute metal charm from Korthobby.no and added it to the scene.  They are a perfect size for the house and what a darling charm for a greetings card.  Don't know if you can see but the little guy is waving to you.  Pity you aren't getting the bling on the trees and the sentiment.  Was a little surprized when I picked this powder up today to see that the box is already half empty.  I only bought it last year and I have some ep's here which have been around a looonnnnggggg time and are still pretty full.  Must grab some more of this one when I am in Englandshire.

Serendipitous Snowflakes

Hello.  Welcome.  The Jingle Belles are looking for pink christmas in support of breast cancer and they are going to donate $2 for every card in the link up.  The linky closes soon but I decided to make a card and join the fun.

I stamped Hero Arts Splendid Snowflakes and embossed with white powder.  Then I spritzed my paper with water, applied Picked Raspberry distress ink to my acrylic block, smeared it across the wet paper and got this cool broken ombre effect.  I cut Sizzix Reindeer 2 from pink card and embossed it with the matching embossing folder.  It didn't show up very well against the background so I smeared the reindeer with Gingerbread versamagic chalk.  I added a bit of pink bazzill around his neck and then cut a pink ribbon from the same card.  I added a pink rhinestone to the ribbon and some pink pearls to highlight some of the embossed patterns.

E is for Elephant

Hello.  Welcome.  The Craft Barn's Alpha Dictionary challenge has E as this fortnights letter.  I really didn't want to go with elephant.  I looked at many other alternatives.  But then I realised it is.  E is for elephant.  Everyone knows that.  Ask a child.  A is for apple, B is for bear, bee, banana, box, well, OK let's move on......  C is for cat, D is for dog, E is for elephant..................  And I had this lovely stamp from Rubber Dance Stamps that fitted perfectly on my giant playing card so......

I kept this very simple.  I covered my card with white paper, stamped Rubber Dance's Elephant and masked him.  Then I took a piece of ripped paper and used the corner of my black archival ink pad to add a line of ink.  Then I moved the ripped paper up the card and repeated.  Might have to use that technique again.  Definition from the OED.

Lucky Tiger

Hello.  Welcome.  I'm in the mood to make but mojo seems to be off travelling.  So I'm smooching around blogland looking for inspiration and it's all halloween and autumn colours and then I saw the moodboard at MFP.  One of the icons is black cats on a green splodge with white and yellow flowers.  Reminds me of spring.  And black cats.  And neon green.  Oh, yeah.......

I tried gold embossing on black card for my tiger, but it just wasn't working for me, so I reverted to ye olde traditional yellow tiger, black stripes.  I found this lovely neon green base card and, after looking at some roundish die cuts, settled on Go Kreate's large Horseshoe die cut from metallic green card.  The sentiment is from Kort og Godt and means good luck today and for the future.

A Star to Guide You By

Hello.  Welcome.  Taking a break from pumpkins and made a santa ATC.  I really liked Vickie's card where she used a star as her faux metal embellishment and added a pearl in the middle.

My background is versamark ink on Stamplorations Stars Align stencil stamped onto my ATC base and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then I coloured with Faded Jeans distress ink.  I stamped the large santa from MFP Dear Santa set and coloured with distress inks.  He wouldn't fit on my ATC so he's just peeking in from the side LOL.  I made my star and added three pearls cos one didn't look enough.  I had stamped a tiny little star in the middle but it got buried by pearls.  Ah well......

Dancing On The Ceiling

Hello.  Welcome.  You're singing aren't you!  I can hear you.  Ooooh, what a feeling, dancing on the ceiling...... Hold that thought......   This was going to be an ATC but it grew and became a tag.  There just wasn't room to cram it all on the ATC base.   Do you remember those funny little books where you read one story with pictures and then you turned it upside down and read another story and the pictures were the same, but different!  No!!  Oh, you missed out.  If you haven't got a clue what I'm talking about take a look at my tag

I got happy mail from Cheery Lynn today.  This little vampire is part of Cheery Lynn's Monster Kids #1 set.  Ain't he cool......  Dancing on the ceiling........

I cut my tag using Sizzix Ornate Labels die.  I stamped DRS Spooky Eyes background and embossed with white embossing powder.  I managed to get some extra ink on the tag from the edge of the stamp.  Usually I would have cleared this away, but I thought this time it would actually add to my design, so it stayed.  Then I embossed messily around the edge as well.

I paper pieced the Vampire kid and made a faux metal embellishment, inspired by this MFP tutorial, using silver embossing powder and Hero Arts/Sizzix Chandelier stamp/die combo.

Ooh, ooh, dancing on the ceiling....  Enough with the song!!  This is serious art!!!!  The three pumpkins are from MFP Halloween Selection set.  I stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut.  The cat and bats are from Cheery Lynn Witches Brew set and the Bootastic is from Cheery Lynn Frankenstein set.

I added some purpley bobbly wooly stuff to the top/bottom of the tag.  I'm not sure if we are up side down or right way up.  All together now, dancing on the ceiling oooh, ooh....
